Pattazhi Vadakkekkara Grama Panchayat, which was officially established on 19th January 1979, is located in the northeast of Kollam district, adjacent to Pathanamthitta district and adjacent to Enadimangalam and Ilamannur villages. This village is separated from Pathanapuram village by the Kundayam stream and from Pattazhi village by the Kallada river. Small hills, hillocks, valleys, meadows and streams beautify the nature of this village. The Kallada River, which flows through this village from the eastern to the western end, makes the place lush and fertile. The Pattazhi Devi Temple in Pattazhi Panchayat, which is famous for its name and fame, is one of the oldest temples in Travancore. It can be seen that the Buddhists who settled in Karunagappally around 500 AD migrated to Malur and the surrounding areas, which are part of this village, in later times. It was during this period that the present Pallipuram bridge and school were established. The name 'Pallip' itself was used for schools of Buddhist believers.
